Child’s Prayer

My aspiration comes as prayer on my lips,
O Lord! My life be as that of a lamp,

Let the darkness of the world be gone when I shine,
Let there be light everywhere when I shine,

Let my presence adorn my nation,
As a flower adorns a garden,

My life be like that of a moth O Lord!
My life be devoted to the lamp of knowledge O Lord!

My work be to support the meek,
To love the pained and the weak,

My Lord! Save me from wickedness,
Make me tread the path of righteousness.
